Shared model evidence

Model Data Hub

Common datasets are stored and documented once, then referenced by HEC-HMS, SWAT and CROPWAT. This avoids duplicating rainfall, climate, terrain, land-use or soil information across individual model pages and makes the HARE reconstruction easier to review and reproduce.

Data principle. A dataset may serve more than one model. Rainfall and climate information, for example, supports HEC-HMS rainfall-runoff analysis, SWAT watershed simulation and CROPWAT irrigation-demand assessment. Each model may process the data differently, but the original source and provenance should remain clearly documented.

How the Shared Data Feed the Models

HEC-HMS

Flood Analysis

Rainfall, basin area, terrain, loss parameters and timing parameters are transformed into design hydrographs and peak flood discharges.

SWAT

Watershed Simulation

Climate, DEM, land use, soil and HRU information are combined to simulate runoff, ET, groundwater and catchment water balance.

CROPWAT

Crop Water Demand

Climate, rainfall, soil, crop coefficient and planting-calendar data are converted into ETc, effective rainfall, irrigation requirements and scheme demand.
